"Asian Pitcher Plant" -Nepenthes- in 4" pot.
Carnivorous, meaning they feed on insects and small animals. Their unique ‘pitcher’ shape is actually a specialized leaf adapted to trap and digest prey. The inside of the pitcher contains a liquid that drowns and digests the insects that fall in. This unique adaptation allows them to thrive in nutrient-poor soils where other plants struggle.
Tropical conditions preferred. Damp moss recommended for ease of care, bog like conditions.
-
Water Quality: Use rainwater, distilled water, or reverse osmosis water. Tap water often contains minerals that can harm your plant.
-
Water Frequency: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. A good rule of thumb is to water when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch.
