Gulf Shore is pleased to be participating in the VK Greenhouses Poinsettia campaign again this year. Our Home & School Association is actively fundraising for our Food for Thought cupboard and our Breakfast Program. Our Food for Thought cupboard provides snacks and lunches for students that may come to school without an adequate supply of food. This cupboard is very well used at Gulf Shore, particularly around the Holidays and into the New Year.

In 2022, we received a small grant to run a pilot Breakfast Program, which was similarly well-received by all students and is something that Home & School would like to continue. With this Poinsettia fundraiser, we hope to raise enough funds to purchase not only supplies, but also some equipment to make this program more permanent. We understand that not every student is fortunate enough to arrive at school with a full belly and a loaded lunch kit, and that adequate nutrition is required for students to be able to focus throughout the day and make the most out of the educational opportunities they are given.
